A serious case of preventive detention
An agent of the Mossos d’Esquadra has been sent to prison accused of continued sexual assault and child pornography. Manresa District Court No. 3 ordered remand without bail, confirmed by the ACN and advanced by El País. This decision was made following an internal affairs investigation, where new evidence was found on his cell phone implicating him in a repeated violation of a person close to him. These actions would have taken place before the first arrest, which took place last August and was related to another assault on a woman with an intellectual disability. This led to his remand for a few months, but he was later released.
Investigation and Restraining Orders
The initial investigation began last year following a complaint by the parents of the first victim, after suspicious messages were found on the officer’s mobile phone. It is believed that the man led the victim to believe that the sexual practices were part of a massage therapy course. Currently, the man also has a restraining order in force that prevents him from approaching the victim within 1,000 meters and the prohibition to communicate with him by any means. In addition, at the time of the second arrest, the officer was already suspended with pay and employment.
New evidence and background
The new evidence that has emerged during the inspection of their mobile phones has played a crucial role in this case. Although the man was assigned to the scientific police of the central police region and had not had any incidents related to the facts he is accused of since last year, the evidence found on his mobile phone has contributed to his second arrest and subsequent admission to prison.
