The covid-19 takes center stage at the March meeting of the Manlleu City Council

The exceptional situation caused by the coronavirus crisis marked the ordinary March meeting of the Manlleu City Council, held electronically. This circumstance placed covid-19 as a protagonist in several points of the agenda, forcing the session to be held by video conference.

Liquidation of the 2019 budget

The settlement of the 2019 budget closed with a cumulative saving of 2,849,000 euros, reflecting a positive balance for the City Council. Both the government team and the opposition showed satisfaction with this result, although the need for a greater commitment to public services in the budget was highlighted.

Budget modifications

Three budget modifications were made due to the current emergency situation. Both the opposition and the government team agreed on the importance of containing the use of amortizations from last year, recognizing the uncertainty regarding the duration and impact of the health crisis.

The new Ter Institute

At this meeting, Manlleu City Council ceded the land where the new Institut del Ter will be built to the Generalitat de Catalunya. Despite the promises of priority by the authorities, the mayor expressed uncertainty regarding the terms of construction of the new institute, committing to exert pressure to advance this project.
