Former president Artur Mas does not comment on the investigations
The former president of the Generalitat Artur Mas avoided speaking this Saturday about the investigations being carried out by judge Joaquín Aguirre. The judge has opened a separate piece to investigate Artur Mas, also ex-president Carles Puigdemont and eleven other people from their circles. These investigations are carried out in the framework of the alleged ‘Russian plot’, in which alleged crimes of embezzlement and treason are being investigated. Puigdemont’s lawyer, Gonzalo Boye, has announced a lawsuit against the judge for this action. However, Artur Mas has stated that he will not comment on this matter.
Mas criticizes the action of Judge Aguirre

The former president has affirmed that Aguirre is acting ‘with little sense of total and absolute justice’. But he emphasized that there are ‘certain sections’ of the judiciary that do not act in the same way when it comes to Catalan independence. According to Mas, this is not Justice, but the application of the law as they understand it.

But he emphasized that this is not a minor matter, since he is accused of crimes that can entail sentences of up to 20 years in prison.
