Accusations against the President of the Generalitat
The CUP deputy in Parliament, Xavier Pellicer, has criticized the president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, accusing him of behaving like a ‘chameleon’ and of prioritizing the achievement of a majority in the 2024 budgets that include the PSC-Units. These statements were made during the full session of the Parliament in which the amendments were debated in full to the accounts, and after the Government did not get enough support to move forward with the budgets.
Congratulations to Salvador Illa
Pellicer also congratulated the leader of the PSC, Salvador Illa, for having gone from being irrelevant to being in the absolute centrality of Parliament. This happened after, according to the CUP deputy, Aragonès renounced to give sovereignty to the Catalan chamber following the pact with the socialists for the accounts.
Criticism of budgets
Pellicer criticized the budgets, considering that they consolidate the dismantling of public health and a model of draining public resources towards the private sector. In addition, he regretted that the investment per inhabitant is 16% lower than in 2010, although according to him, ERC defends that they are the highest in absolute figures.
