Apartments of charges in the RFEF
The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has taken the decision to remove Albert Luque, director of the men’s national team, and Rubén Rivera, head of marketing, from their responsibilities (https://www.softcatala.org/resum- of-texts-in-catalan/). This decision seems to be a reaction to the Prosecutor’s Office’s request for coercion against player Jennifer Hermoso in the case known as the Rubiales case (https://www.softcatala.org/resum-de-textos-en-catala/ ). Although there is no official confirmation, the measure taken by the organization seems to be related to this situation.
A framework of action announced by the Federation
This decision is part of a framework of action announced by the Federation this Wednesday. The organization has expressed its commitment to clean up all the responsibilities that may arise from irregular conduct and decisions during the period of Luis Rubiales as the most responsible person in the RFEF. Nevertheless, the RFEF has stated that it respects the presumption of innocence of Luque and Rivera (https://www.softcatala.org/resum-de-textos-en-catala/).
Other recent apartments in the RFEF
This is not the first time the RFEF has taken disciplinary action. Just under two weeks ago, the organization announced that it also dismissed Pedro González Segura, director of Legal Services, and José Javier Jiménez, head of Human Resources, in relation to Operation Brody (https://www. softcatala.org/resum-de-textos-en-catala/). At the time, the RFEF explained that it had opened a disciplinary case and removed the directors related to the court case.
