The Red Cross and MoraBanc Andorra come together for a noble cause

The Red Cross and MoraBanc Andorra have announced the second blood donation campaign of the year, which will take place next Monday, April 15 at the Poliesportiu d’Andorra la Vella. This initiative aims to surpass the previous year’s record of 236 donors, since, as the club’s CSR manager, Natalia De Felipe, says, donating blood is giving life.

An effort to increase the number of donors

The general secretary of the NGO, Joan Saurí, has expressed the desire to reach the number of 28 new donors, emphasizing that this campaign is the only one that is carried out in a single day. Saurí has also stressed that blood reserves are still low, calling on the population to join them.

Support from the authorities and facilitation for donors

The Secretary of State for Sports, Alain Cabanes, has praised the blood donation campaign, highlighting it as a project that reflects the values of solidarity and sport present in society. Likewise, an appeal has been made for the population to join. Donors can register on the website https://donarsang.gencat.cat/ca/vull-donar/ or through the MoraBanc Andorra Basketball Club website. The requirements to donate blood include being between 18 and 70 years old, weighing more than 50 kilos, having last donated more than two months ago and, above all, wanting to make a simple gesture to save lives.

Saurí has informed that those who have not booked an appointment in advance can also come, taking into account that statistically there is a 10% drop-out rate and that there are people who cannot complete the donation.
