A ruling by the TSJC overturns the article referring to Aiguafreda

A new sentence of the administrative litigation room of the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC) has annulled an article of the urban master plan (PDU) of the Costa Brava that affected the urbanization of Aiguafreda, in Begur. This ruling has canceled the declassification of 180 plots for chalets and hospitality establishments, which had been considered rustic land by the government in 2021.

According to the data of this newspaper, this is the fifth sentence of the TSJC that annuls the inclusion of specific sectors within the PDU of the Costa Brava. Other rulings have affected the urban sectors of Port de la Selva, Pals and Begur. There is also evidence of another sentence in Cadaqués.

The ruling has stopped the construction of 15,000 homes between the coast of Blanes and Portbou. However, there are still other active disputes related to Aiguafreda, and it is estimated that there could be around fifty more judgments.
