The Equality commitment with International Women’s Day
Àlex Cerradelo, Councilor for Equality, presents us with an exceptional program to commemorate International Women’s Day. The Equality Department, in collaboration with other municipal departments and various entities, has prepared a series of activities to advance gender equality and give visibility to female athletes.
A diverse and enriching program
The program for International Women’s Day stands out for its diversity and richness. In addition to the activities focused on women’s sports and the fight against sexist aggression in the sports field, there are proposals for all tastes and ages. From workshops on the balanced distribution of family tasks to conferences, cinema, theater and music, there are many interesting activities to enjoy.
The poster: a work of art that represents the struggle of women
This year’s poster, entitled ‘Wrestlers’, is a work by Andrea Morelló Silvestre, winner of the competition called by the Alcoi School of Art and Design. This graphic and diverse work represents the strength and determination of women in the fight for equality.
The commitment to equality in the Festival of Moors and Christians
Àlex Cerradelo highlights the progress in gender equality at the Moors and Christians Festival, but acknowledges that there are still more steps to be taken. This task has been promoted by the Fonèvol association and some filaes that have worked to achieve a more egalitarian party.
The main lines of action of the Council for Equality
The Council for Equality works to implement public policies that promote gender equality. This task is applied both within the City Council and in Alcoa society. Various events and actions are organized to raise awareness and educate about equality, especially in schools.
A new stage full of challenges and satisfactions
Àlex Cerradelo emphasizes that working as a councilor for Equality and other areas is an interesting and exciting task. Although he recognizes that it is complicated, he positively values the opportunity to improve the city and solve the problems of the residents.
