The division of the vote in the provinces

The division of the vote between the two provinces of Extremadura, in Badajoz in favor of Miguel Ángel Gallardo and in Cáceres in favor of Lara Garlito, is one of the most important keys to explain the victory of the mayor of Villanueva de la Serena in the PSOE primaries of Extremadura .

Proof of this is that Gallardo has obtained more votes in the province of Badajoz than Garlito in all of Extremadura.

The weight of the Badajoz vote

Despite his well-known differences with the provincial secretary of the PSOE of Badajoz, Rafael Lemus, and the fact that the two candidates have been supported by militants, organic party officials, mayors and councilors from the other province, the weight of the Badajoz vote has been a very determining factor.

The president of the Badajoz Provincial Council will be the new general secretary of the party having obtained 55.71% of the votes (4,089), compared to 43.34% for Garlito (3,181).

Provincial keys

In the province of Badajoz, 4,672 votes have been cast (78.8% participation) and 2,679 in the province of Cáceres (75.32%), 1,993 less.

Gallardo has been the most voted in his province, with 69.49% (3,241), and Garlito in his province, in Cáceres, with 67.75% (1,183).

Gallardo has obtained 3,241 votes in his province, more than Garlito in all of Extremadura (3,181). The balance in his favor has been 60.

Gallardo has won in 79 of the 102 polling stations in his province and Garlito in the remaining 23.

Garlito has won 72 tables in his province and Gallardo has won 17.

The province of Cáceres has registered two ties, in Almoharín and in Cañaveral, and none in Badajoz.

Gallardo has been the most voted in Badajoz, Mérida, Don Benito, Almendralejo, Villanueva de la Serena, Jerez de los Caballeros, Zafra or Montijo and in the Cáceres of Navalmoral de la Mata or Coria.

Garlito has been the most voted in Cáceres, Plasencia, Miajadas or Malpartida de Cáceres and in the Badajoz provinces of Olivenza, Villafranca de los Barros, Herrera del Duque or Alburquerque.

Gallardo has added votes in all the polling stations in Badajoz and has not obtained a single vote in four towns in Cáceres. Garlito has had zero support in 16 municipalities of Badajoz and one of Cáceres (Madrigalejo).

Gallardo has won in his town with 81.79% of the votes and Garlito in his Cáceres with 71.88%.

Fifteen towns in Badajoz had more than a hundred voters, with the capital (640) and Mérida (412) in the lead. In Cáceres, only the capital (512) and Plasencia (196).

Herrera del Duque (Badajoz), with about 3,400 inhabitants, but with 181 militants, had a voter census similar to Plasencia (196), despite its almost 40,000 residents.
