Civic list and Catalan elections

The proposal to stand in the next Catalan elections with a civic list has generated internal discrepancies in the Catalan National Assembly (ANC). While the president of the pro-independence organization, Dolors Feliu, has defended the proposal, numerous internal voices have expressed their rejection of direct participation in institutional politics, considering it contrary to the foundations of the ANC as a transversal organization and not partisan

Internal criticism

Criticism of the civic list has reached the leadership of the ANC, with the resignation of the entity’s treasurer, the economist Ada Ferrer, who has expressed her opposition to the proposal. In addition, more than 130 leaders and former secretaries of the ANC have promoted a manifesto critical of the civic list, considering it highly divisive and contrary to the foundational nature of the entity.

Validation of the proposal

The validation of the civic list proposal by ANC members will be voted on from Friday this week until March 14. The partners opposed to the proposal have criticized the use of financial resources of the association for the project, such as the creation of a web page that has had a cost of 15,000 euros.

Demonstration against

A manifesto against the civic list has been signed by around 130 members of the Assembly, among whom are relevant figures such as singer-songwriter Lluís Llach and former vice-presidents of the entity. The manifesto charges against the proposal, considering it highly divisive and contrary to the foundational nature of the entity.
