The leader of the PSC assures that he has fluid communication with Pere Aragonès and that he is looking for a budget agreement if his priorities are met

The first secretary of the PSC, Salvador Illa, has stated that there are “intense conversations” with the Government to explore whether a “principle of agreement” can be reached on the budgets. In an interview with La Xarxa, Illa said that she has been in “intense dialogue” with the president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, in recent weeks. Regarding the Hard Rock, he argued that the administrative processing of the project cannot be stopped and cannot depend on the subjectivity of “like it or not”. Asked if the Hard Rock should be postponed taking into account the drought, he criticized the communes for “taking advantage” of the current climate situation to “jeopardize prosperity”.

Illa has indicated that in periods of drought all activities are subject to exceptional regimes, but he also recalled that Camp de Tarragona, where the Hard Rock is to be located, is not in the emergency situation that exists in Barcelona .

The three axes of the PSC to support budgets

He reiterated that he “will not stay” for the PSC and in his party’s will to support the Generalitat’s 2024 budget “if the conditions are right”. In this sense, he has exposed the three axes that the socialists indicate as a priority: housing, security and educational policies.

Illa does not want an “exchange of trading cards” between institutions

On the other hand, Illa has stated that she would like there to be budgets for the three institutions: Generalitat, Barcelona City Council and the Spanish government. But he has also remarked that he is not in favor of a “change of trading cards”. “Every institution is every institution”, he concluded.
