Elche City Council will carry out an inventory of facades of great historical importance
The mayor of Elche, Pablo Ruz, has announced that the Urbanism area together with the Mayor’s Office will carry out an inventory of facades of great historical relevance. “The objective is to preserve the heritage and that in the face of any application for a building permit, we can analyze it and not lose facades as happened with the one on Calle Alfons X El Savi, around the orchard of the Cure”.
Preservation of Historical Heritage
“We will be understanding with everyone, but inflexible in the historic center regarding demolitions and the removal of historical heritage and facades,” said Ruz. “Heritage is to be preserved. We don’t want the same situation again as in the Regs El Progrés building and that’s why we have to stand up”.
Preservation of Urban Heritage
In this way he pointed out that “we will be preservers of the urban heritage we have and we will prevent the demolition of a single facade of an entity in Elche, mainly in the historic center”.
