Tractors fill the streets of the capital to demand improvements for the agricultural sector

Today is a day of protest for the peasant world of Mallorca. Since very early on, hundreds of tractors have left from different parts of the island to head to Palma, where they have held a rally to make their claims visible. Farmers demand, among other things, less bureaucracy, more aid and more respect for their work. The tractor-trailer has caused significant traffic delays in the city, but it has also managed to draw attention to the situation in the Majorcan countryside.

The solleric farmers are not missing from the appointment

Among the participants in the tractor ride, there was a representation of Solleric farmers, who wanted to join this initiative to defend their interests. A small group of Solleric farmers met at 10.30 am at the Cetre stop, where a bus provided by the Sant Bartomeu Cooperative was waiting for them. The Cooperative ordered the vehicle and finally it was the Ca’n Repic bus company that offered it for free. About ten farmers, including the president of the Cooperative, Miquel Gual, and the Councilor for Agriculture, Fisheries and Livestock, Sebastià Aguiló, have arrived in Palma to join the rest of the demonstrators. In addition, other local farmers have also attended the tractor drive, although with other vehicles.
