The spokesman for the popular ones in Congress, Miguel Tellado, accuses Armengol of paying for defective masks that financed the luxuries of those involved in the plot
The PP presented this Monday to the Congress of Deputies a letter requesting the “immediate resignation” of the president of the chamber, Francina Armengol. The reason is his involvement in the Koldo case, which investigates a corruption network linked to the former advisor to Minister José Luis Ábalos, Koldo García. According to the spokesperson of the PP in Congress, Miguel Tellado, Armengol must take this step for “democratic cleanliness” and because he had a “key role” in the fraud.
“Armengol cannot continue for one more second. He acquired useless masks knowing that they were a hoax and this money from the citizens of the Balearic Islands was used to pay for the Ferraris of those involved in the plot,” said Tellado before adding that Armengol she was an “indispensable collaborator”. The popular people do not rule out demanding that Armengol declare to the commission of inquiry that they are preparing in the Senate, where they have an absolute majority.
Tellado: “Armengol cannot boast the honor of being the third authority of the State”
“The issues are accumulating and we only have Armengol’s silence as an answer. We are facing a serious scandal, Armengol cannot continue in office. He cannot maintain the honor of being the third authority of the State”, said Tellado in a press conference. “We have a government surrounded by corruption,” summed up the PP spokesman.
According to the PP, the Spanish government is “in disarray” and “in panic” due to the consequences of the arrest of Koldo García, the former adviser to Ábalos, who is now part of the mixed group after disobeying the orders of the PSOE. “Every day that passes, the circle closes closer to the most intimate and closest environment to President Sánchez,” remarked Tellado. As for Armengol, the spokesman believes that she is not a “victim” of the Koldo case but an alleged “necessary accomplice”.
