Twelve victims of Jeffrey Epstein are suing the FBI for covering up the crimes
Twelve victims of Jeffrey Epstein, American billionaire convicted in the US of sexual abuse, have reported to the FBI for a possible cover-up of the crimes committed by the tycoon. As reported by several American media, the women, who have made the complaint under a single pseudonym, say that the victims were not protected even though the American police had clues and information against the businessman. They also claim that the FBI’s negligence caused them to be victims of ongoing sexual abuse.
FBI Whistleblower and Negligence
The complaint states that, already in 1996, a victim of Epstein reported to the police a sexual abuse by the tycoon and that, apart from her, there were other victims. However, the lawsuit notes that the FBI ignored this early information against the tycoon. From here, they gather that between 1996 and 2006, the American police received several complaints reporting sexual abuse, trafficking and abuse of minors, among other crimes.
Sentencing and subsequent investigation
For example, in 2005 they received information regarding sexual massages of a minor, but the FBI did not open the investigation until the following year. It was from this 2005 complaint that Epstein was first charged and sentenced to thirteen months in custody for sexual abuse of minors.
More thorough research
Despite having even graphic documents of the activities carried out in Epstein’s mansions, or having records of Epstein’s constant payments to victims, the American police did not establish a proper investigation until 2019 , when prosecutors charged and jailed the businessman for crimes related to child abuse. A month after this accusation, Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in his cell.
