What a joy, that you want me to explain!

by PREMIUM.CAT

I feel very satisfied when I see our farmers out with their tractors on the roads. I think it’s good that farmers and ranchers claim their rights, which are everyone’s rights, those of the people, those of our land.

What a joy to mobilize

(unions have been doing nothing for a long time) to let us all know that they are here and that they are fighting to stay here doing the work that they have been doing for centuries that, after all, is what keeps us going enjoying a healthy and natural diet, and an orderly and protected territory.

They do well to say enough and make themselves heard

, and they are making us open our eyes to our dream where everything is fine and the sector will continue to function despite the blows it receives. I am impressed by their ability to adapt, while at the same time I am moved by how they defend their present, which is also everyone’s.

Because I don’t have a tractor

, that if I had, I would join their claims!

With these words I also want to go out into the street, into the public light

, to say very strongly that what is happening is also our responsibility, of the non-peasant society, which little by little is leaving in foreign hands, and from the capital, our food sovereignty and, at the same time, our Pyrenean identity , Catalan and rural.

With the excuse of progress, the Pallars have allowed

that, with almost no support, they remove the exploitations from our towns, lest they inconvenience the newcomer and the visitors; we have allowed the church bells to be silent, the bells not to ring…

Invoking the good of society, fires can no longer be made

in the mountains to make more meadows; the alternative is for the ranchers to clean it with mechanical means, but they, and not the rest of us, pay the increased costs; and so everything goes: every day more bureaucratic obstacles, more vetoes, more restrictions, more expenses imposed by someone who is in a comfortable office many kilometers from the territory…

We are the counties in Catalonia with the most protected areas and with the most limitations

sectors, and it is no coincidence that this leads us to an extremely weak economy, to a monoculture of tourism and services, which is constantly threatened by periodic economic crises since it is clear that, when the economic cycle goes down, the first thing we deprive ourselves of is to go on vacation or go out for lunch.

I just needed to read in this newspaper

that a couple of mayors ask that the traffic light that regulates traffic in an area under construction between Tremp and Salàs de Pallars be green for more uphill time on Fridays and downhill on Sundays so that visitors reprimand us. Maybe this request makes practical sense, but I feel disillusioned that we only think about visitors.

Oh my gosh!!! And those of us who go from Sobirà to work in Jussà?

Or those who go down to the Regional Hospital of Pallars de Tremp or the Court? Or those from Jussà who come every day to work at Sobirà?

Isn’t our time on the road worth the same?
