A festival for all ages

From April 3 to 6, the city of Igualada will be transformed into a cultural epicenter with the Igualada exhibition, an event that will host a wide variety of stage shows for all audiences. From the smallest to the adults, everyone will find a proposal that attracts them, showing that the stage art is for all.

A reflection of Catalan excellence

In the presentation of this year’s edition, Edgar Garcia, director of the ICEC, emphasized the Catalan success at the International Performing Arts Fair, which was recently held in Gijón, where the companies of Catalonia won 10 of the 17 awards. This success emphasizes the quality and diversity of the performing arts in the region.

La shows with the Professional platform

Carme Riera, Councilor for Culture of Igualada, emphasized that the exhibition is not only a festival open to the general public, but also a professional fair that promotes the exchange between artists, programmers and distributors, with a pro -active box during the four days of the event.

An unprecedented programming

Ramon Giné, the artistic director of the exhibition, enthusiastically shared that this year more than 900 proposals have been received, exceeding all expectations. Of these, 41 shows will be present, with a majority of Catalan productions, and seven from outside Catalonia, including two international proposals.

A balance between genres and public

Giné emphasized the diversity of the genres present, including theater, dance, music and circus. In addition, the program includes exclusive premieres, with seven shows that will be presented for the first time, and ten more that will be new for Catalonia.

Some prominent proposals

Among the proposals, you can highlight ‘Madame Lumière’ of La Small Productions for the first childhood, and ‘Little Break’ of the Bros Bros, which merges dance and screenings. It will also be premiered ‘Enphrica’ of The Theater Romancera, which addresses interculturality.

A program for everyone

For young people, there are productions such as ‘Lizzie, the musical’, which has been nominated for various awards, and ‘Navaja’ de lasadcum, which has received significant recognition. The program is designed by a special commission, ensuring that all young people find a show that is passionate about.

Free street activities

In addition to the main program, the festival will offer free outdoor activities, such as ‘Ufa’ by Cris Clown and ‘Forat’ by Dudu Arnalot, who promise to surprise attendees with unexpected performances.

An international meeting point

With about 900 registered professionals, the exhibition will attract programmers from Catalonia, Spain and other European countries. La Llotja at the Museum of the Pell will be the nucleus of exchanges and collaborations between the attendees.

An emotional closure

The exhibition will culminate in ‘Frankments’, a creation that seeks to make visible often ignored groups, and will be presented at the Ateneu Municipal Theater. An end that promises to be as shocking and significant, reflecting the inclusive essence of the sample.

So, from April 3 to 6, Igualada will become the meeting point for creativity and culture, with proposals for all tastes. Don’t miss it!
