The attack against Aleix Vidal-Quadras shook Spanish politics at the end of 2023.

In one of the most central streets of the Salamanca district, the former president of the Catalan PP and co-founder of Vox was shot at the door of his house last November 9. For a moment it seemed that his situation would be critical, but the injuries did not end up being so serious and Vidal-Quadras was able to be treated and has since been recovering in hospital. Now, three months later, it has reappeared in a video… and with a catastrophic message.

Vidal-Quadras’ apocalyptic message about Spain

“The very existence of the [Spanish] nation is in danger,” he explained in a message addressed to a conference of the Neos Foundation, a cultural platform presided over by ex-minister Jaime Mayor Oreja (who went so far as to insinuate that the ‘Catalan independence was behind the attack on Vidal-Quadras). Visibly affected by the voice, the co-founder of Vox has assured that Spain is going through a very difficult moment in its history in reference to the pact reached on Tuesday between the PSOE and Junts on the crimes of terrorism in the Amnesty Law.

The work of Neos and so many civil entities is essential in these times

“That is why the work of Neos and so many civil entities that have mobilized in defense of the national cohesion of the democracy of the freedom of the rule of law is so essential in these times and I encourage you to continue with this magnificent work”, he launched in his message, starting the applause of the attendees.

The message of Vidal-Quadras matches that of Mayor Oreja

The message of Vidal-Quadras is practically the same as that of Mayor Oreja, at the beginning of December 2023, when in an auditorium of an institute he charged against independence, against the PSOE, the amnesty law and making conspiratorial statements about the attack of March 11, 2004. The former Minister of the Interior was one of the political figures who gave the most support to Vidal-Quadras after his attack.
