Inauguration of the Primary Care Center

The recently opened Primary Care Center (CAP) in Ciutat de Valls represents a significant advance for the local community. Although the Head of Government, Xavier Espot, the Consul Major of Andorra la Vella, Sergi González, and the Minister of Health, Helena Mas, were the protagonists of this inauguration, the real driving force behind this project has been former consul major Conxita Marsol, who worked tirelessly to make this need a reality.

Benefits for the local population

With the new facility, the older residents of Ciutat de Valls, who represent approximately 20% of the population, will no longer have to travel far to receive basic health care. This accessible location aims to reduce hospitalizations and avoid serious diseases, such as cardiovascular diseases, thus improving the quality of life of the residents.

An ongoing project

Espot pointed out that the creation of this center is part of a wider effort to expand the network of Primary Care Centers in Andorra. With the inauguration of this new CAP, the capital already has four operating centers, a number that reflects the importance of public health in the Government’s priorities.

Commitment to health and well-being

Primary Care Centers are not only responsible for prevention campaigns, but also promote healthy habits at both a health and social level. The CAP of Ciutat de Valls will offer medical and nursing services, and tenders are being prepared to hire new professionals who will contribute to this mission.

Future expansion plans

In relation to the expansion of health services, Espot mentioned that the immediate objective is to improve the already existing centers, thus guaranteeing adequate coverage for the population. In addition, he highlighted the large investment planned for the expansion of the hospital, with studies and cost analyzes already underway.

Reactions on the omnibus law

In other news, Espot commented on the negative reactions of various associations to the omnibus law, noting their concern about the lack of collaboration. He emphasized the need to work together to build a better future, instead of rejecting proposals out of consideration.

Collaboration perspectives

The head of government expressed his conviction that the law can satisfy the general interest, despite the criticism. He proposed that, despite differences of opinion, it is important to maintain a constructive dialogue in order to reach a consensus on the necessary amendments to the law.
