An Innovative Event for a Vital Cause
The University Hospital of Igualada, together with the Consorci Sanitari de l’Anoia and 4D Health, has launched a unique initiative: a solidarity escape room. This activity, scheduled for November 22 and 23, seeks to raise funds for the 3cat Marathon, which this year focuses on respiratory diseases.
Getting in the Skin of Healthcare Professionals
Participants will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the reality of the Pneumology Service, working in teams of 4 to 6 people, with the condition that children under 16 years of age are accompanied by an adult. Within 30 minutes, they will have to solve a series of tests designed to simulate the fight against a respiratory virus.
Learning through Play
In addition to fun, the escape room will serve as an educational platform where participants can learn about the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of respiratory conditions, all while enjoying an interactive experience.
Collaboration and Donations for a Common Cause
The entrance fee to participate in the escape room will cost 5 euros per person. Those who wish to contribute beyond the entrance fee can make donations through the website of the Consorci Sanitari de l’Anoia, with a suggested donation of 10 euros, or leave cash contributions in the piggy bank located at the event reception.
A Marathon with a Clear Message
The 33rd edition of La Marató de 3cat, scheduled for December 15, will aim to raise awareness about respiratory diseases, which are increasingly common due to factors such as pollution and increased life expectancy.
Growing Impact of Respiratory Diseases
According to experts, factors such as environmental pollution, smoking and infectious agents are key in the appearance of these pathologies, which currently affect nearly two million people in Catalonia and represent the third cause of mortality, with 10,000 deaths recorded in 2022 alone.
An Opportunity to Join Forces
This initiative aims not only to raise funds, but also to raise awareness about the importance of respiratory health. Participating in the escape room is a fun and meaningful way to contribute to the cause, while also joining the collective effort to combat the diseases that affect so many individuals.
