A Day of Festivity and Devotion
On January 17, 2025, the Basilica of Santa Maria in Igualada will become the center of a vibrant celebration, where flags will be the protagonists of a traditional event that unites community and culture. The Banda de Música, together with the trabucaires known as Els Voladors, will accompany the flag bearers on a solemn journey to the church.
A Heritage Craft With a Musical Touch
Upon arrival at the basilica, a special service will be held with the participation of the Exaudio Men’s Choir, which will enrich the atmosphere with its harmonies. This tradition, which is part of the city’s cultural calendar, seeks not only to honor the roots, but also to foster a sense of belonging among citizens.
Complementary Activities during the Week
The 17th is not the only highlight. The week will be full of activities that include art exhibitions, conferences and theatrical performances. Among the events scheduled, it is worth highlighting ‘Modernism in Igualada. 1907: a key year’ and ‘Living memory of nursing in Igualada’, which provide a reflective look at local history.
An Expansion of Local Culture
In addition, the XII Riudebitlles Art Biennial and various artistic activities, such as amigurumi workshops and oil painting exhibitions, will enrich the city’s cultural offer, showing the diversity and creativity of local artists.
A Space for Reflection and Dialogue
Attendees will also be able to participate in book clubs and conferences that address current issues, such as communicating with teenagers and the importance of literature in personal development. All of these activities seek to foster an enriching dialogue among participants.
Closure and Reflection
As the celebration of Tres Tombs approaches, the community of Igualada prepares to experience a few days of tradition, art and reflection. This event not only serves to remember the past, but also creates a space for the future of local culture, reaffirming the identity and values that unite all Igualada residents.
