A Visual Articulation Against Extremism
The new poster for the FRONT International Film Festival of Conflict and Peace is not just an image, but a statement of intent. Inspired by the famous work ‘Aixafem el fascisme’ by Pere Català i Pic, the artist Marc Volpini Tondo revitalizes an anti-fascist symbol of the 1930s. In place of the usual swastika, the spherical star of the Franco monument in Tortosa stands out, marking a firm position against the rise of the extreme right and an invitation to reflect on the historical traces of the dictatorship in today’s society.
Fifth Edition: An Opportunity for Reflection
With renewed ambition, the fifth edition of MOSTRA FRONT is headed for an in-depth exploration of contemporary and historical conflicts, from the Palestinian and Ukrainian wars to the memory of the Russian Revolution. A space for exchange and knowledge, the festival will be held between September 26 and October 5 in Roquetes, with a selection of films that provide a new perspective on historical memory.
Strategic Changes for a New Era
In a commitment to the concentration of resources and audience, the Mostra will be installed for the first time in a single space, thus facilitating more convenient access and a richer experience for spectators. In addition to the screenings, the debate sessions will involve experts in culture and philosophy, creating a space for reflection around the themes worked on in the films.
Educational and Community Initiatives
With the aim of involving young people, FRONT will present the program ‘FRONT in the Classroom’ during the month of November, aimed at secondary school students. This will be articulated as a continuation of the educational project, as a metaphor for the transmission of values and critical thinking between generations.
Collaboration and Institutional Support
The festival has received recognition as a member of Catalunya Film Festivals, a network of forty-five film festivals. This association not only raises the prestige of the exhibition, but also foresees a significant improvement in the quality of the programming and presentation techniques, as well as a commitment to the comfort of the spectators.
Patronage and Cultural Emergency
To meet the festival’s budget, it has started a micro-patronage campaign through Goteo. This initiative seeks sponsors and promotes the acquisition of season tickets with attractive benefits, contributing to financial sustainability that favors culture at a time when it is needed more than ever.

With the support of several institutions, FRONT presents itself as a relevant platform for the professionalization of the cinematographic sector in the Terres de l’Ebre. Its mission: not only to show, but to claim a high-quality culture that encourages critical thinking and the living memory of history.
