A worrying case of substance traffic
An individual faces a sentence of three years in prison and a fine that amounts to 3,000 euros for a crime related to public health. This situation emerged after the Guàrdia Urbana de Lleida detained him with cocaine and other illegal substances that, according to authorities, sought to market.
Detention and evidence collected
The events date back to September 3, 2023, when police officers identified the defendant inside a car parked on Sant Ruf Street, accompanied by another individual. His nervous reaction to detecting the police presence aroused suspicions, which led the agents to inspect the vehicle.
During the review, agents discovered illegal substances valued at 1,080 euros, as well as a precision scale and 180 euros in cash. In total, eleven bags contained varied drugs were confiscated. Among the substances found were 10 grams of a mixture of cocaine and lidocaine, as well as 3.74 grams of cocaine with a purity of approximately 79%.
Increased drug trafficking in Lleida

Recently, at the end of February, the Mossos d’Esquadra detained a 46 -year -old man in the Bordeta district, who sold illegal substances near his home. In this operation, 24 cocaine wraps were found ready for sale, as well as cash.
In addition, in early February, the prosecutor’s office applied for an eight -year prison sentence for a 41 -year -old man accused of drug trafficking in the Cappont district, with a fine of 350,000 euros. This data reveals a worrying tendency that authorities are trying to control.
The judgment and future perspectives
The trial against the defendant is scheduled for March 19 at the Lleida High Court. The charges that will be presented reflect the seriousness of the situation and the commitment of the authorities to address the problem of drug trafficking in the region. Society hopes that measures taken will help reduce this phenomenon that affects public health.
The outcome of this case could mark a precedent in the fight against traffic of illegal substances, and is a reminder of the importance of police surveillance and intervention in this area.
