A Journey to the History of Altafulla
Next October 13, Altafulla will open its doors to a special day, framed within the European Heritage Days (JEP). This initiative, which seeks to celebrate the cultural wealth of Europe, will allow visitors to explore the former Hospital de Pelegrins, recently awarded for its historical and scientific relevance.
The Hospital of Pilgrims: A Cultural Treasure
From 12 o’clock, a talk entitled ‘The Hospital of Pilgrims in Altafulla’ will begin. Study and rehabilitation proposal’. This presentation will focus on the historical and social significance of the hospital, an emblematic building that reflects the urban evolution of the town and which is now proposed to be rehabilitated as a municipal space.
A Tradition That Unites Europe
The European Heritage Days, which have been held without interruption in Catalonia since 1991, are the result of collaboration between the Council of Europe and the European Commission. This annual celebration, promoted by the Catalan Agency for Cultural Heritage, is considered one of the most important cultural heritage activities on the continent.
