A new stage for local public transport

Catllar City Council has decided to join the Association of Municipalities for Mobility and Urban Transport (AMTU), an organization that brings together more than 150 Catalan councils. This decision marks a key moment in the municipality’s effort to improve the quality of the public transport service and face current challenges.

Collaborative work for effective solutions

Joining the AMTU will allow Catllar to access technical and legal resources that will facilitate the improvement of transport infrastructure. On October 30, the first working meeting was held, where strategies to address the mobility needs of residents began to be outlined.

The role of the Government and the EMT

With the collaboration of Transport of the Generalitat and the Municipal Public Transport Company of Tarragona (EMT), the City Council hopes to develop solutions that respond to the demands of the population. This association is seen as a necessary step to make Catllar’s voice heard in transport matters.

Listen to the needs of the people

The municipal government has expressed that its decision has been taken in response to the concerns expressed by residents about public transport. Through official channels, the City Council encourages citizens to continue sharing their concerns, underlining the importance of citizen participation in this process.

Commitment to safety and quality

With its incorporation into the AMTU, the Catllar City Council reaffirms its commitment to achieve a public transport service that adapts to the needs of the community. This commitment includes special attention to the safety of users and the effective response to the demands of neighbors.

In the face of difficulties, they will not surrender

Despite the fact that the Generalitat has rejected several requests to expand the service for budgetary reasons, the Catllar will remain firm in its demand for improvements. Two municipal technicians will join the working commissions of the new passenger transport map, which is expected to be up and running by 2028.
