From November 27 to 30, Vilafranca del Penedès will become the epicenter of the casteller world with the fourth edition of the Castells Cinema Festival (FCC). This event, organized by Revista Castells, in collaboration with the Vilafranca City Council, the Pinnae Foundation and Vinseum, will offer a wide range of audiovisual productions focused on casteller culture.
A content-rich programming
With around thirty films, this year’s festival stands out for its diversity, including both works made by casteller groups and productions from channels such as La Xarxa, which has become a benchmark in audiovisual coverage of castells. Among the documentaries that can be seen are high-quality pieces that explore both the history and social impact of castells.
Opening with an exclusive preview
The festival will begin with the premiere of a 12-minute fragment of the documentary ‘El Gran Teatre del Liceu, plaça castellera’, directed by Jordi Aymerich and Jordi Escofet. In addition, ‘Al Cim’, a work that narrates the efforts of the Greens in the 2022 Competition, will be exhibited, promising to excite the public with its images and testimonies.
Dialogues and debates: enriching the experience
In addition to the screenings, the festival offers a unique opportunity to participate in dialogues and live presentations. The podcast ‘La Figuereta’ will hold a special session, while Francesc Valls will share the results of a study on the social perception of castles in Catalonia.
