Changes in the Garbage Rate
In an extraordinary session, Tortosa City Council has decided to modify the garbage rate for the year 2025. All other municipal ordinances will remain the same. This decision has been unanimously approved by the representatives of all political groups.
One of the main novelties is a 10% reduction in the fee for residents of Campredó who participate in the door-to-door collection system. In addition, the area of non-commercial premises that can benefit from a fixed rate of 138.80 euros will be increased, going from 40 to 70 square meters.
Approval of the Budget Amendment
The plenary has given the green light to a budget amendment of 161,804.32 euros, which had initially been approved in the session of September 3. This modification, which has received the support of the government groups and the CUP, has received the allegations of the Junts per Tortosa group, which have been rejected after a review by the legal services.
The additional funds will make it possible to carry out several improvements, including an investment of 100,000 euros for the modernization of the municipal road network, as well as 51,804 euros for the installation of solar panels in public buildings.
Investments in Animal Welfare and Sustainability
Another outstanding aspect is the investment of 10,000 euros aimed at improving the facilities of the Animal Reception Centre, which is managed by the organization Petjades de l’Ebre. This action seeks to guarantee a more suitable environment for the animals taken in.
In addition, it is planned to finance several projects, such as the drafting of a plan for the renaturalization of Paseo de Ribera, the implementation of bike lanes in the city, and a contribution to the Decentralized Municipal Entities (EMD) of Jesús and Bítem for the support for kindergartens.
Recognized the Importance of Financial Management
Finally, the plenary has approved a proposal for extrajudicial recognition of credit, with the only abstention from Junts per Tortosa. This measure underlines the importance of financial management for the proper functioning of local administration.
