An innovative learning space
Today, the Tarragona Educational Complex has hosted the inauguration of the XVIII edition of the TRICS Forum (Research Works and Synthesis Credits), an essential event for the Baccalaureate students in the region. More than 2,500 students from 36 educational centers have gathered to participate in this initiative that fosters knowledge and creativity.
A program rich in opportunities
Attendees will enjoy interactive workshops organized by Rovira i Virgili University (URV) and witness presentations of research work by other high school students. The Rector of the URV, Josep Pallarès, together with the Vice -Rector for Students, Montse Pinent, have been present at the inaugural act, emphasizing the importance of this forum for the academic growth of young people.
Objectives of the Forum
The main purpose of this event is to enrich the training of young people, providing a conducive environment for the exchange of experiences. Secondary students exhibit their research work in front of their first-year colleagues, hoping to inspire them in their own research for the following year.
Themes and tubes
During the two days of the Forum, a total of 165 research papers will be presented. Participants may be involved in various scientific workshops that deal with relevant issues such as sustainability and applied sciences. Thursday’s day has been focused on the humanities, with workshops on energy transition, green hydrogen and climate change.
Friday: Science in Action
On Friday they will be dedicated to purely empirical sciences, with sessions on food science and everyday chemistry, as well as a virtual simulation for undergraduate students in Nursing. This diversity of activities seeks to encourage young people in the world of scientific research.
Futures Recognitions
In addition, the URV will recognize the best research papers with the URV-Fòrum Tric awards, which will be presented at a public event in June. The prizes will include financial aid for the university enrollment of the winners, with categories ranging from science to humanities and interdisciplinary work. Each category will have a first and second prize, thus encouraging competitiveness and academic excellence.
With this initiative, Tarragona reaffirms its commitment to the education and development of young people, preparing them for a future full of opportunities and knowledge.
