Rescue at Gorg dels Tres Salts in Sant Fruitós de Bages
Today, the Fire Department carried out a rescue at the Gorg dels Tres Salts in Sant Fruitós de Bages, mobilizing a helicopter and five vehicles to intervene in an emergency situation.
Successful Rescue of Two Trapped Persons
In this operation, two people have been successfully rescued after being trapped in the gorge. The Fire Department has deployed a helicopter with underwater GRAE personnel and five other support equipment to carry out this rescue.
Circumstances of the Accident
The two people trapped were in a space between two rocks, near the water fall, after an incident in which they slipped. Despite this complicated situation, the firefighters managed to get the two people out without any serious consequences.
Background of the Site
This bottleneck has been the scene of previous incidents, including the tragic death of a 14-year-old boy last Friday, April 19. This has led to a significant mobilization of the Fire Department in this area to ensure the safety of citizens.
Resources Mobilized
In this rescue operation, 9 crews were mobilized with a total of 20 firefighters, including the Underwater Special Action Group (GRAE). In addition, two command vehicles, two light vehicles, a rescue van, two fire trucks, the water rescue van and the multipurpose helicopter were used.
Rescue Efforts and Results
The Fire Department carried out an intensive search with the GRAE Subaquátic divers, locating and recovering the body of the boy who had lost his life. Despite resuscitation efforts, unfortunately his life could not be saved. The Medical Emergency Service (SEM) provided psychological support for those affected.
