A Season Full of Novelties and Great Figures

The Franz Schubert Philharmonic has revealed its thirteenth season at the Palau de la Música Catalana for 2024-2025, offering a program rich in new proposals and the participation of prominent national and international artists. This season, the orchestra presents eight concerts that promise to captivate classical music lovers.

Featured Artists and Memorable Collaborations

The season will include the first participation of artists such as Maxim Venguerov, Daishin Kashimoto, Alexander Chausian and Vlad Stanculeasa, as well as the direction of Laurence Equilbey, Carlos Miguel Prieto and Ton Koopman. In addition, names such as Elisabeth Leonskaja and Alexandra Soumm, who had already collaborated in the past with the Franz Schubert Philharmonic, are participating again, consolidating their collaborations with the orchestra.

Program highlights

The season will open with the ‘Symphony no. 5’ by Mahler under the direction of the principal conductor, Tomàs Grau. Other highlights include the ‘Concertos for violin and orchestra no. 1 and 3’ by Mozart, performed by Maxim Venguerov, as well as Elisabeth Leonskaja’s recital dedicated to Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert.

Diversity of Repertoire and Memorable Collaborations

The season will offer a wide variety of repertoire, from the symphonies of Brahms and Mendelssohn to the ‘Fauré Requiem’ under the direction of Laurence Equilbey. In addition, Daishin Kashimoto, concertmaster of the Berlin Philharmonic, will make his debut with the Franz Schubert Philharmonia with the ‘Brahms Double Concerto’ together with cellist Alexander Chaushian.

Closing of the Season

The closing of the season will be in charge of the pianist Olga Kern, who will interpret Beethoven’s ‘Emperor’, and the Mexican conductor Carlos Miguel Prieto, who will bring to the stage the ‘Variations concertantes para orchestra de Ginastera’ and the ‘Danzón no. 2’ by Márquez, offering a memorable evening to close this season full of exceptional music.
