The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility allocates a multi-million dollar investment to improve the Alcoi-Xàtiva railway line
The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has announced that it has awarded an investment of more than 84 million euros for the modernization and improvement of the Alcoi-Xàtiva railway line. This investment will allow several works to be carried out to guarantee a quality service and improve the user experience.
Comprehensive renovation of the line and adaptation to future electrification
The works will include the comprehensive renovation of the railway line, with the replacement of track elements, such as the rail, sleepers and ballast. In addition, the adaptation of the structures will be carried out for the future electrification of the line. These improvements will contribute to increasing the efficiency and reliability of rail operations, as well as reducing journey times and promoting more sustainable mobility.
Improvement of the stations and extension of the platforms
The works will also include the improvement of the stations, with the extension of the platforms to improve accessibility and comfort for users. In addition, a third track will be put into service at Ontinyent station, to improve the capacity and efficiency of the service.
