A Festive Start Full of Activities
Last weekend, Castellvell del Camp kicked off its Winter Festival celebrations, dedicated to Sant Vicenç. Residents were able to enjoy a backpacking dinner, followed by a lively dance with the group Pentagrama, which filled the atmosphere with music and fun.
Concerts that Remember Traditions
Sunday witnessed an emotional concert at the church of Sant Vicenç Màrtir, where the choir of the Orfeó Reusenc performed a selection of works that moved the audience. Among the outstanding pieces, sardanas such as ‘L’Empordà’ by Enric Morera and ‘Per tu ploro’ by Pep Ventura could be heard, as well as popular songs by Lluís Llach and musical themes from well-known productions such as ‘Mikado’ and ‘Les Misérables’.
Tradition and Community in the Holidays
The traditional events will continue on Tuesday, January 21st with the celebration of the Graella de Sant Vicenç. The day will begin with a performance by the Institut Domènech i Montaner’s tuna group in front of the City Hall, followed by a vigil mass and the lighting of tea lights. The procession with giants and grallers will add a festive touch to the event, culminating with the lighting of the grill in Plaça de Catalunya.
The Day of St. Vincent
On January 22, the day of Saint Vincent the Martyr, high mass will be celebrated at 12 noon, followed by a procession with the image of the saint. This is a tradition that brings the community together and strengthens social ties between neighbors.
Competition and Fun at the Bowling Green
The festivities will culminate on Sunday, January 26, with the Bowling Toss at the Benjamí Martorell bowling field. This competition, which is part of the Camp de Tarragona Bowling Championship, will have the participation of several towns in the region, encouraging coexistence and sportsmanship among the participants.
