The Municipal Office of Education (OME) of Tarragona organizes actions to facilitate the choice of educational center
The OME of Tarragona is finalizing preparations for school pre-registration, which will take place from March 6 to 20. For this reason, in the coming weeks activities aimed at families will be carried out so that they have adequate information to participate in the choice of educational center.
In the coming days, all families with children born in 2021 will receive the Guide to Tarragona’s educational centers at home, to make known the city’s educational offer. This guide can also be obtained directly from the headquarters of the Municipal Institute of Education.
Choosing a school is a key moment for families that requires information and guidance
In order to accompany mothers and fathers in the pre-registration and enrollment process, the City Council has the Municipal Education Office, which offers specialized technical advice. This service is located at the IMET headquarters, at Carrer Ramón y Cajal, 70.
During the month of February, it will be possible to consult the website of the Municipal Office of Schooling, the collection with all the information on the open doors of the centers, as well as the news about the regulations that must regulate the pre-registration process for the 2024 academic year -2025.
Measure to combat school segregation
Last week, the first workshops were held for the families of 2-year-old children who must participate in pre-registration this year. As a novelty – and a measure to combat school segregation – the ‘Barreja’t amb mi’ project has been introduced, promoted by Save the Children, with the aim of reflecting on diversity in educational centers and encouraging families to participate in the open doors of the schools.
It should also be noted that, within the framework of the agreements of the Local Planning Board and in co-responsibility with the Department of Education of the Generalitat, this year detection units will be set up in Tarragona, responsible for coordinating actions related to the detection of students with specific educational needs and the assessment of their progress.
