Reinforcement of cleaning tasks
In an effort to improve the image and health of the city, the Barcelona City Council has launched a new initiative for the cleaning of containers.
Within the framework of the Endreça Plan, the cleaning service for the bottom and outside of the containers has been strengthened with the use of 18 specialized vehicles equipped with a groundwater system.
Thorough cleaning with pressurized water
This new system makes it possible to lift the containers and carry out a thorough cleaning of the entire affected area, making sure to remove all the accumulated waste.
According to the municipal authorities, an average frequency of 12 annual cleanings is expected in the lower areas of the containers, reaching up to 24 in specific cases.
Improvement of the quality and impact on the public space
This initiative is part of a set of actions that aim to improve the quality of cleaning and have a strong impact on public space.
The City Council has emphasized that this service complements the interior cleaning tasks of the containers, providing a global solution for their proper maintenance.
