A New Stage in Catalonia
Following the publication of the Amnesty Law in the Official State Gazette (BOE), the Spanish executive has expressed its first reactions, stating that this fact marks the beginning of a new stage in Catalonia. This officialization has been considered a fundamental piece for the closure of a stage of confrontation and division in Catalan society, according to sources from the Ministry of Justice and Presidency collected by the ACN.
Immediate Application of the Law
The publication of the law in the BOE represents the final step for the entry into force of the amnesty law, allowing those affected to claim its immediate application to the relevant judicial body. It must be borne in mind that any law published in the BOE enjoys the presumption of legality, constitutionality and legitimacy, and therefore must be applied or evaluated by the corresponding court.
Preparations for the Application of the Law
The defenses of the amnestied have already prepared the necessary documents to claim the application of the law by their representatives.
