Strategic decisions in the second meeting

In its recent virtual assembly, Foc Nou has made an important decision: it will not participate in the two lists competing to lead ERC on December 14. Although its members will not be present in the candidacies of Militància Decidim and Nova Esquerra Nacional, the group led by Helena Solà and Alfred Bosch has established five conditions for supporting either of the two options.

Clear conditions for support

Foc Nou has stressed that its support will be based on a well-defined plan that includes the goal of independence by 2030, an agreed referendum for new investitures in Madrid, and a consultation on the investiture agreement with the PSC. They have also called for an external audit of the party’s B structure and insisted that institutional positions cannot be held by those holding the presidency or general secretariat.

A message of firmness and independence

Helena Solà has made it clear that her intention is not to achieve seats of power, but to focus on independence as an absolute priority. The group leader has announced the opening of a period of dialogue with the other candidacies, in the hope of finding common ground that responds to her demands.

A militancy that sets the pace

Foc Nou recalled that the 12.6% of votes received at the congress on November 30 gives them the strength to play an influential role, despite not advancing to the second round. The group stressed that their priority is to establish agreements based on content and principles, without compromising their essence.

Conditions for the agreement with ERC

Regarding ERC’s strategy in Madrid, Foc Nou has made it clear that any negotiations must lead to a binding independence referendum. If this commitment cannot be guaranteed, it will not enter into discussions with the candidacy seeking its support.

Calling for transparency and regeneration

In addition to the aforementioned conditions, Foc Nou is demanding an external audit that evaluates the party’s B structure, with the aim of restoring its image. The party hopes that these measures will contribute to the party’s regeneration and avoid the accumulation of charges that, they claim, is detrimental to the organization.

A future marked by dialogue

With this stance, Foc Nou seeks to position itself as a key player within the Catalan political landscape, prioritizing independence and transparency. The coming weeks will be decisive in seeing how the dialogue with competing candidacies evolves and what agreements can be reached.
