The first steps in a life dedicated to spiritual pursuit

Esteve Humet i Climent began his academic career at the Escola Pia, where he discovered his passion for knowledge. In 1964, he entered the Conciliar Seminary of Barcelona, where he studied Catholic Philosophy and Theology, establishing the foundations of a deep spiritual reflection that would mark his entire life.

His relationship with the hermit Father Estanislau M. Llopart, initiated in the cave of the Holy Cross, was fundamental to his spiritual evolution. This friendship provided him with a new paradigm of values and a deeper understanding of theology that guided him during the following years.

A community of young seekers

In the parish of the Sagrada Família in Terrassa, Esteve joined a group of young people with spiritual concerns, inspired by the figure of Charles de Foucauld. Through the readings of René Voillaume, they discovered a new dimension of spirituality that connected them with the post-conciliar changes.

A journey to solitude and community

In 1970, Esteve entered the monastery of Montserrat with the desire to explore the monastic tradition. Later, he shared a hermit experience in Les Guilleries with other companions, where the spiritual search became a community experience.

At Mas Blanc in Osona, he established a spiritual shelter center that attracted about twenty young people, creating a mixed community that promoted personal growth and mutual learning.

A bridge between cultures and spiritualities

His stay in India in 1983 marked a key moment in his life, where he connected with significant figures such as Ramana Maharshi and Father Fede Sopeña. This experience enriched his understanding of human dignity and spiritual culture.

A master of meditation and psychology

After studying Psychology at the University of Barcelona, Esteve dedicated himself to clinical practice and meditation, integrating Eastern and Western spiritual traditions. His passion for silence and introspection led him to lead meditation groups, helping others find their inner path.

A farewell full of love and recognition

The last years of his life were marked by delicate health, but his vision of life, centered on nature and the universe, maintained his inner peace. Esteve passed away in a hospital, and his farewell ceremony was a reflection of the esteem he generated throughout his life.

On December 1, friends and family gathered at El Xiprer to pay tribute to his life. A community united by love and respect shared memories and reflections on his impact. On December 22, a celebration at the church of Sant Jaume in Viladrover brought together eighty friends to commemorate his life with silence, yoga and music.

A legacy that lasts in the heart

Esteve Humet leaves behind a legacy of spiritual wisdom and a life model that inspires us to live with depth and authenticity. His influence will continue to be present in the hearts of all those who were lucky enough to know him. His essence will remain as a light that accompanies us on our spiritual journey.
