Joint operation of the Mossos d’Esquadra and the Municipal Guard
A joint operation by the Mossos d’Esquadra of the police station of Santa Coloma de Farners and the Municipal Guard of Sant Hilari Sacalm has served to dismantle a marijuana cultivation on Hospital Street in this municipality of Les Guilleries.
Citizen collaboration and arrest of those responsible
The investigation by the two police forces began thanks to the public collaboration that alerted the Municipal Guard, as Diari de Girona has reported. The two allegedly responsible for the cultivation were arrested when they left the ship with a van loaded with sacks full of stems of marijuana plants.
Discovery of the infrastructure and confiscation of material
During the search of the ship, the agents found the necessary infrastructure to maintain the plantation, as well as electrical equipment and a large amount of pots with the remains of freshly cut plants. In addition, a considerable amount of marijuana buds and a sum of cash were confiscated.
Accusations and legal actions
The two arrested, aged 24, are charged as alleged perpetrators of a crime of drug trafficking and one of electrical fraud. The police certified that the ship had the light punctured in the electrical supply. The two arrested have already been brought to court.
