Diversity of nationalities in Sant Feliu de Llobregat
In Sant Feliu de Llobregat, people of more than 90 different nationalities live there, with a large presence of women. Some of these women, such as Natàlia Rodríguez, Kelly Panduro, Susana Buitrago and Estela Morales, have arrived in the city in recent years.
The project ‘Voices of migrant women in Sant Feliu de Llobregat’
Based on the training and reception courses, the project ‘Voices of Migrant Women in Sant Feliu de Llobregat’ was created. This project has made it possible to collect the testimonies of these neighbors in a video made by the photojournalist Raül Clemente.
The migratory experience and life in Sant Feliu
The video shows the women’s migratory experience, from their arrival in Sant Feliu to their current situation. It also delves into their feelings, concerns and future perspectives from different parts of the city.
Recognition and support for migrant women
The councilor for Solidarity and Twinning, Núria Carrera, and the mayor Lourdes Borrell have highlighted the struggle of this group of women and have claimed Sant Feliu as a welcoming city. Raül Clemente, author of the video, thanked the women who participated in the project for their courage.
Debate and reflection on the situation of migrants
After the screening of the video, a round of questions was opened and a round table was held with the activist Aurea Ayón, the former councilwoman Fátima Taleb and the facilitator Amal Ait Blal. Topics such as racialized feminism, religious freedom and interculturality were discussed.
