Analysis of Employment Results in the Last Year

The City Council has presented a report on the activity of the Local Employment Service during the past year, with a special focus on supporting people with mental disorders in the region. One of the most outstanding aspects is the notable increase in job placements, with 389 people finding work this 2024, a figure that exceeds the 323 in 2023, marking an increase of 66 new placements.

Collaboration between the Business Sector and Labor Needs

Jordi Marcé, Councilor for Economic Development, stressed that this growth is the result of a constant dialogue with local companies, orienting the training of job seekers towards the specific needs of the labor market. Currently, the Local Employment Service’s job coverage rate is 52%.

Actions Carried Out and Results of Orientation Programs

In total, 2,290 actions have been carried out throughout 2024, including individual and group orientation services, as well as personalized monitoring for those looking for work. Marcé also highlighted the successes of programs aimed at specific groups, such as the Atenea program for women, which has achieved an impressive 70% job placement rate among participants.

Data on Youth Employment

Regarding the Youth Employment Support Program, 223 young people have been served with a 36% insertion success rate, while 20% have returned to formal education.

Professional Training and New Opportunities for 2025

In addition, 86 people have been trained through professional courses that include internships in companies, with a direct focus on job placement. For 2025, the City Council plans to invest more than 620,000 euros in training, including the repetition of courses that have been successful in the past.

New Innovative Trainings

Among the new features is the Professional Certificate in Administrative Management Activities, which will use the SEFED (Business Simulation) methodology, offering 928 hours of practical training with 80 hours of internships in real companies. This methodology allows students to experience real work situations in a simulated environment, facilitating the acquisition of administrative management skills.

Answer to the needs of the retail sector

Another new feature is the course for sales and management of fashion and clothing stores, designed to respond to the demand of local commerce and the need for qualified professionals in the retail sector. This training will begin in March and will run until July, with 15 places available and fully subsidized for unemployed people.
