A new center for youth creativity
Thursday afternoon marked a historic moment for the Pallaresos community with the opening of the Espai Jove, a long -awaited municipal facility. This building, which covers an area of 100 square meters, has been funded with a total budget of 115,000 euros, with a contribution of the City Council of 80,000 euros and a contribution of the Diputació de Tarragona of 35,000.
Authorities give the starting shot
The highlight of the inauguration was marked by the discovery of a commemorative plaque by the Mayor, Jordi Sans, and the President of the Diputación, Noemí Llauradó. In this symbolic act, several young attendees, already users of the space, took the opportunity to express their wishes, such as the incorporation of a Ping Pong table and a TV.
A space designed for all
The mayor encouraged young people to endure this new space, which will host children between the ages of 6 and 14 with supervised free activities. For the age group from 15 to 17 years, the aim is to foster self -management, thus promoting an atmosphere of responsibility and creativity. “We want this space to really be of youth, not just a City Council project,” Sans said in an interview with diary21.
A project with roots in the community
The creation of this space is the result of a long process that began during the previous term with the former mayor Xavier Marcos. The Councilor for Youth and Education, Maite Núñez, recalled that she has been part of a group of young people who claimed the need for such a space. “This project closes a circle that we can now celebrate,” said Núñez.
Activities and initiatives for all
After completing the works and an interior renovation, the first activities began in February, with the help of a youth dynamization expert. Núñez emphasized that the space is not only a meeting place, but also a meeting point for activities that foster the expression and interaction between young people.
A commitment to the future
The President of the Diputación, Noemí Llauradó, emphasized that this is the first space dedicated to the youth that the institution inaugurates in recent years. Llauradó encouraged young people to actively participate in the definition of activities and urged local authorities to continue betting on policies that benefit youth, remembering that they must be cross -cutting in all areas of government.
With this inauguration, the Pallaresos not only gain a new equipment, but also a space of connection and growth for future generations, with the promise of continuing to work together for their improvement and adaptation to the needs of the community.
