Leadership crisis at VOX
Recently, the VOX party has experienced a new episode of internal tensions in Camp de Tarragona. After the departure of three councilors in the mixed group, attention is now focused on Julio Pardo, the spokesperson from Reus, who has been the subject of a complaint to the party’s Guarantees Committee. VOX sources have confirmed to La Ciutat that Pardo is in a situation of disobedience, ignoring the instructions of the national leadership, which include the replacement of the spokesperson and the dismissal of an adviser who, according to party sources, is not in the ‘height of expectations.

In Reus, the situation has caused a significant rift within the municipal group, which currently has only two councillors. After the municipal elections, VOX got three representatives, but already at the beginning of the mandate, one of the councilors, José Ruiz, joined the mixed group, citing disagreements with the management.

The party, which initially enjoyed strong support in both Reus and Tarragona, has seen its municipal groups fragment. In Tarragona, two councilors resigned en bloc due to internal conflicts, leaving Judit Gómez as the only representative of the party. Julio Pardo, the current spokesperson for VOX in Reus, was the party’s candidate in the last municipal elections. With a degree in Law from the Complutense University, Pardo began his career as a lawyer in Madrid in 1985 before settling in Reus, where he has continued to practice. Currently, he offers legal services in various areas, including civil and commercial law, and has accumulated experience in the financial and insurance sectors.
