The 2024 Max Awards celebrate the talent of Catalan theater

Catalan theater has once again received great recognition at the Max 2024 Awards, which took place in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. During the gala, outstanding Catalan artists and theater shows were awarded in various categories.

One of the most important awards of the night went to the work Falsestuff. The death of the muses, written and directed by Marcel BorrĂ s and Nao Albet. This play won the award for best theatrical show, standing out for its originality and artistic quality. In addition, AdriĂ  Pinar received the award for best stage space design for his work on this play.

In the acting category, Eduard Fernández was awarded best actor for his outstanding performance in All Love Songs. On the other hand, Àngel Duran received the award for best male dance performer for his participation in Cowards. Natalia Huarte won the award for best actress.

Other notable awards include the Max for best street show, which was awarded to Ciutat dormitori, from Apoyos Superfluos. Alexina B. received the awards for best costume design and best musical composition for a stage show for her work in one of the theater productions.

Recognition of other artists and shows

In addition to Catalan talent, other artists and shows were also recognized at the 2024 Max Awards. For example, Iñaki Rikarte received the award for best stage direction for Forever, and together with Garbiñe Insausti, Edu Cárcamo and José Dault, he won the award for the best theatrical authorship.

Fernanda Orazi was awarded for the best adaptation or version of a theatrical or choreographic work for her work in Electra. This work also won the award for best revelation show. Other winners include Jorge UsĂłn Colomer for best new authorship, EstaciĂłn ParaĂ­so for best show for children, youth or family audiences, and Felipe Ramos and Sharon Fridman for best lighting design.

The award for best musical or lyrical show went to Ladies Football Club, while the award for best production work went to Teatro Clásico de Sevilla for El PĂşblico. NĂşria Espert, renowned actress, received the 2024 Max d’Honor Award in recognition of her outstanding career.

During the gala, NĂşria Espert, winner of the 2024 Max d’Honor Award, gave an emotional thank-you speech.
