CCOO confirms the agreed improvements in the health system

After the non-approval of the budgets of the Generalitat, the CCOO union has met with the Catalan Health Service to ensure that the improvements of the Third Agreement of the Catalan Health Institute (ICS) and the Third Agreement of the Sanitat Concertada (SISCAT) agreements are guaranteed with the budget extension. However, CCOO warns that the increase in the budget item planned for Health will not materialize.

Agreements to improve the working conditions of healthcare personnel

Last November 2023, the ICS and the unions CCOO, UGT, Metges de Catalunya and SATSE reached an agreement to improve the working conditions of the approximately 55,000 professionals who work for this public company. This agreement includes several measures, such as the recognition of the professional career for new professionals, the increase in the price of guards on the special days of Christmas and New Year, salary improvements for doctors, and the reduction of the annual working day for non-medical groups.

Importance of closing the deal before the end of November

CCOO emphasizes the importance of closing the agreement before the end of November to ensure that the economic improvements contained in the agreements are automatically transferred to the 2024 budget in the event of a budget extension. They regret the lack of political agreement on the budgets of the Generalitat for 2024 and affirm that, despite guaranteeing the improvements in the agreements, it will not be possible to count on the increase in the budget item planned for Health.
