The bishop of Solsona, Msgr. Francesc Conesa, has presented his new book, Towards a more synodal Church, published by Editorial Claret, in the Blanquerna University library building.
A reflection on the role of the Synod in today’s Church
During the presentation, Bishop Francis reflected on the role of the Synod in the Church today. According to him, synodality is an elemental feature of the Church and has allowed the Church to discover itself, as happened at the Second Vatican Council. In his book, he also talks about the lived environment and highlights the importance of reflection to discern what is best for the Church.
The importance of co-responsibility of the faithful
Bishop Conesa has highlighted the importance of the co-responsibility of all the faithful for synodality. According to him, all the faithful must participate and contribute to the life of the Church.
The Synod as an opportunity for the growth of the Church
Bishop Conesa has made it clear that the Synod does not seek to change the Church, but to make it grow in a different way. The aim is to raise current issues and accompany everyone, even those who have felt hurt by the Church.
